IFC is increasing its support for small businesses and female entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan

• IFC provides $9 million in financing to MFO "Arnur Credit" LLP
• Half of the funds will go to women-owned businesses

IFC is investing in one of Kazakhstan's leading microfinance institutions to increase financing for micro and small enterprises (MSEs), with a special focus on women-owned and small businesses in the country's underserved southern regions.

IFC's $9 million investment in Arnur Credit LLP, the country's seventh largest microfinance institution, will be distributed among rural MSEs and women-owned enterprises. With 44 sub-offices, Arnur Credit's operation covers Qyzylorda, Turkestan, Zhambyl and Almaty regions, as well as the cities of Almaty and Shymkent, allowing the organization to serve farmers and small businesses in remote and rural areas where financial services are often limited, thus contributing to their economic development.
