Construction of car plant in Karaganda will begin in the fourth quarter of 2010

/IRBIS, June 11, 2010/ - In Government House First Deputy Prime Minister of
the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Umirzak Shukeyev met on the project of
construction of car plant in Kazakhstan, announced on June 10 press office of
the government.
As indicated, during the meeting, which was attended by representatives of
JSC "NC" SEC "Sary-Arka", akimat of the Karaganda region, the Eurasian
Development Bank and Open Society "Sollers" discussed the project and
signed a memorandum on mutual cooperation.
As reported in a news release "Khabar" Agency of June 10, 2011 at the
Kazakh-Russian venture Saryarka automotive industry should begin to collect
SUVs and pickup trucks.
"Today at the government meeting it was stated that the construction of car
plant capacity of 50 thousand units per year will begin in the fourth quarter of
this year in Karaganda. For the remainder of the joint venture decides - what
brand of car will produce the domestic auto industry," - news agency reported.
As expected, the total project cost is $200-250 million, the share of each of the
parties on 50%.
"As noted at the meeting Mr. Umirzak Shukeyev Deputy Prime Minister, $50
million to build the plant through the SEC Saryarka provides by the State, and
other funds - Eurasian Development Bank. The first phase will create up to
fifteen thousand new jobs in the future the plant will operate three and a half
thousand people. The cost of produced cars should be from 19 to 23 thousand
dollars ", - stated in the message.
"We focus on the fact that at the end of next year, that is, in late 2011, the
company is to release its first products. The main market will be Russia and at
the very beginning up to 70-75% of the products will no longer export to the
