Kazakhstan and Austria signed an agreement on encouragement and reciprocal protection of investments

/IRBIS, January 13, 2010/ - Kazakhstan and Austria signed an intergovernmental
agreement on encouragement and mutual protection of investments, - added in
published report of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan
on Jan. 12.
As indicated, the agreement was signed in Vienna during the meeting of January
12, 2010 Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat
Saudabayev with the Minister for European and International Affairs of the
Republic of Austria Michael Spindelegger.
After the talks was the signing of an intergovernmental agreement on
encouragement and mutual protection of investments. Commenting on the
signing of the document, the Austrian Minister said that the agreement will move
to a new phase of investment cooperation, - stated in the message.
The report stated that the growth of mutual trade between the two countries
reached in the past two years, $ 1 billion, exceeding the same indicator in 2007
more than tripled. Ministers also discussed promising areas of cooperation in the
energy sector.
