Training competition "Exchange simulator"
A training competition called "Exchange simulator" organized by Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) was held from September 17 to October 17, 2018.
As a result of the competition, the trading volume reached KZT2.332 bn. The average daily volume of transactions in the specified period exceeded KZT89.7 mln.
The maximum number and maximum volume of transactions concluded by one participant is 662 and KZT393.4 mln, respectively.
1,290 students from more than 35 different educational institutions took part in the trading. As a result of the competition, thanks to the support of financial organizations, 23 students were awarded (in previous years there were 15 prizes).
For the first time this year, students who have generated the largest investment portfolio following results of the competition have been given the opportunity to undergo guaranteed paid training at financial institutions such as Freedom Finance JSC, Centras Securities JSC, CAIFC INVESTMENT GROUP JSC, CIB JSC SO VTB Kazakhstan, Altyn Bank JSC, Capital Bank Kazakhstan JSC, IC London-Almaty JSC, Tenrgi Bank JSC, BCC Invest JSC, Tsesna Capital JSC.
The goal of the project is to increase the financial literacy of young professionals and let them gain practical skills in the stock market. Students are given the opportunity to trade the most liquid securities of Kazakhstan's market, most of which are included in KASE Index. Each participant is given a portfolio worth one million tenge at the start of trading. The main task of students is to form the best portfolio, which will determine the winners of the competition.
